These dazzling pools are fed underground through the world’s largest underground river system, the Great Maya Aquifer, which runs throughout the Mexican Caribbean. D’znot, as they were known by the Mayas, were sacred places that Mayans be-lieved they were connected with a underworld called Xibalbá, where their gods and spirits resided after death.
• SEE THE RIVIERA MAYA: The greater Riviera Maya is just a short ride away, and its wonders are endless. Hidden beaches, jungle treks, and thrilling eco-parks are all just wait-ing for honeymooners adventurous enough to discover them.
• ECO-PARKS GALORE: Speaking of the Riviera Maya’s eco parks, there is a honeymoon handful here. Xcaret’s group of parks is king: from ziplining across a turquoise lagoon at Xel-Ha to kayaking through glimmering cenotes at Xenotes park, couples can find plenty of action at Xcaret. Honeymoon Hints

• TAKE A COOKING CLASS: Learn traditional local cooking methods – a skill you can take home to surprise your other half with home-cooked Mexican delicacies.
• ENJOY A QUIET EVENING: There’s no night life in Tulum. Instead, you have quiet beaches and stunning vistas all to yourselves, making it your own private paradise.

Travel Tips

• GETTING IN: Tulum is usually reached via Playa del Carmen, by bus, by van, or by car. There are ADO buses which have excellent amenities, as well as cheaper bus services, but a private transfer is the luxurious option honeymooners should strive for.
• GETTING AROUND: Taxis are good for getting around the city of Tulum, as well as all the fun in the surrounding area. Private vans and shuttles are an amenity at many local ho-tels. And, as usual, private car service is the most luxurious and private, but also the most expensive.
• WHEN TO GO: November through December are the best months to honeymoon in Tu-lum. January to around March has the biggest crowds, and June through October has more rain, so November through December is the sweet spot.

Bride, Groom & Witnesses must arrive 3 business days prior to the wedding day (Saturdays, Sundays & Holidays do not count). Symbolic and non-legal ceremonies allow flexibility for arri-val date.
Valid passports: Make sure passports are current and accurate. Brides who have been divorced need to use a passport with their maiden name, rather than any married names they held.
The names, addresses, nationalities, ages, occupation, relationship, copy of a tourist card and a valid identification of the four witnesses. The Wedding Coordinator will fill out the legal form. The witnesses can be relatives, friends or anyone who has a valid passport.
Blood test: $300 USD + taxes (per couple) fee for blood test must be taken in Mexico. To be considered valid, the test should not be taken more than 14 days prior to the ceremony. The blood will be tested for HIV, STD’s (sexually transmitted diseases) and blood type. The results will be ready in 24 hours together with a certificate of the blood test. Your Wedding Coordinator will make those arrangements for you, usually early morning the day after arrival.
$500 USD + taxes for the city hall court fees and application process.
4 Witnesses with valid passport & tourist card. The names, addresses, nationalities, ages, occupa-tion, relationship, copy of a tourist card and a valid passport of the 4 witnesses. Wedding Coor-dinator will send you the legal form. The witnesses can be relatives, friends or anyone with a val-id passport. If you don´t provide witnesses we can provide them at $25 USD + taxes each.
The Marriage Certificate is only valid in Mexico. To make the Marriage Certificate legal interna-tionally, you need a Wedding Coordinator to send a copy of your License to the Validation Pro-cessing office. The fee will be $165 USD + taxes. The process will take 2-3 months. Once the document is apostilled, the resort will send all documentation to couple’s home address. Docu-ments will be in Spanish but can be translated for an additional $100 USD + taxes (shipping fee is included).
