Best Reasons to Marry in Italy’s Amalfi Coast

Wedding | 5 minute read

Italy’s Amalfi Coast is rife with romance: Castles, coastline and cliff-side villages perched above a sea that stretches into infinity. Anyone who has been here is swept away by its beauty, its charm, and the warmth of its people. If you’re thinking of a wedding in Europe, here are ten reasons why you should absolutely put the Amalfi Coast on your list. Think we missed a big one? Put it in the comments!

10. The Scenery.

The Amalfi Coast is spectacular. As soon as your guests see the incredible views, they will fall in love with the coast. The rugged shoreline is dotted with homes and hotels clinging to the edges of the breathtaking cliffs, providing views considered some of the best in all of Italy (and in a country this gorgeous, that’s saying a lot!)

9. The Weather.

While the winter months tend to be somewhat cooler and quite cloudy, the spring, summer and autumn are all their own kind of perfect. Warm days and cool evenings make the Amalfi a perfect holiday destination for almost any season.

8. The Sea.

Beautiful, warm, azure waters gently crash upon the rocky coast and lap softly upon the beaches, creating a symphony of relaxing sounds. Hop on a boat and travel from small town to small town by sea for an extra romantic method of getting around.

7. The Hospitality.

While our days are warm, our people are even warmer. Enjoy southern Italian hospitality at its finest here.

6. The Food.

From softball-sized lemons and the bounty of the sea, to the delights of San Marzano tomatoes and freshly made mozzarella, the Amalfi Coast has it all. In a country known for its food, the Amalfi raises the bar even higher. Come for a taste of our coast – you will never forget it.

5. The Fun.

There is so much to see and do on the Amalfi Coast, it’s enough to keep any couple busy for months! Keep your guests constantly busy – or busy doing nothing. The “dolce far niente,” an Italian saying referring to enjoying all of life’s sweetness without a single care in the world, is alive and well on the Amalfi Coast. Visit the many small towns and watch the artisans at work or sit on a beach and watch the seagulls playing in the waves…here, doing nothing is just as sweet as doing it all. The choice is yours.

4. The Venues.

Are you looking for an interesting venue for your wedding? A 15th century tower?…a 11th century vaulted arsenal? A Renaissance secret garden? A patio overlooking the sea? The Amalfi Coast has it all and more.

3. The Easy Access.

Travel can sometimes be tough. With the Naples airport only an hour away,  the Amalfi Coast is in an ideal location that’s far enough from the city to be exclusive, yet close enough to reap all the benefits of having urban centers nearby.

2. The Choices.

The Amalfi Coast is a perfect honeymoon location with magnificent hotels dotting the coastline. It also makes the ideal starting point for travel all over Italy, with high speed trains departing all day long from Salerno.

1. The Romance.

The Amalfi Coast offers the utmost in romance for private elopements – and incredible hospitality for large weddings.  Large or small, the coast makes a perfect wedding venue.
