Each day offers a fresh opportunity to experience it however you wish. Some honeymooners never decide to peel themselves away from the pristine white-sand beaches of Honeymoon Beach and Magen Bay, and who could blame them!

Though sundown is the time when some islands begin to wind down, St. Thomas is one that is always just getting started. Its nightlife scene is legendary throughout the Caribbean, and you’ll undoubtedly find countless spots for dancing the night away to the rhythms of live calypso, soca, and reggae. But before you kick things up a notch, you’ll want to savor the flavors of Caribbean and Mexican cuisine by candlelight at any number of the island’s waterfront dining spots. The gently lapping waves and stunning sunsets combine for one of the most romantic backdrops imaginable.

Of course, the breadth of accommodations offers just as much variety as the island’s attractions. From honeymoon resorts to luxury villas, you can customize your once-in-a-lifetime vacation to suit your specific desires. So kick back with an irresistibly frothy Bushwacker Cocktail, relax in the warm Caribbean sun, and enjoy life the way it was meant to be lived.

Travel Tips

  • GETTING THERE: St. Thomas is perhaps the easiest of the U.S. Virgin Islands to travel to thanks to the fact that it has an international airport, Cyril E. King International Airport, right on the island. Direct flights are available from American Airlines, Delta, JetBlue, Spirit, and United, with cities including New York, Boston, Miami, Chicago, Newark, Fort Lauderdale, and Atlanta.
  • GETTING AROUND: U.S. citizens with a driver’s license are able to rent cars and drive on the island, but just be prepared for a left-side driving experience. Many resorts offer shuttles to the island’s best locations, and considering its size, renting a car is not necessarily essential.
  • WHEN TO GO: Unlike many other Caribbean destinations, the US Virgin Islands don’t have a rainy season, so it’s always the right time for a St. Thomas honeymoon! The mild winters mean that tourism is most active during the winter months, thus the summer months are when you’ll typically find the best deals and resort packages.
  • WEATHER: Expect beautiful Caribbean weather year-round as St. Thomas’ average winter temperature is 77 degrees and 82 during the summer. Travelers are often surprised at how strong the sun can be on tropical islands, so be sure to plan accordingly with sunscreen, cotton clothes, and plenty of shade. Regardless of the season, you’ll be able to lounge on the beach, go for a warm swim, and simply enjoy all that the island has to offer.
